Don’t sweat the small stuff

Some things matter a lot. A lot of things don’t matter a lot. You spend too much time worrying about the little stuff, and that affects your ability to analyse the big stuff properly.

Find yourself worrying about stupid stuff? STOP

Examples of stupid stuff:

  • Whether your socks match
  • How much to tip the server
  • What people you don’t like think of you
  • That you missed garbage collection day
  • That you’re about two pounds overweight
  • Timekeeping

Focus on the BIG stuff:

  • Your health
  • Your family
  • Your relationships

WHY?

Because sweating small stuff (“crying over spilt milk”) takes up time and emotional energy, both of which are a finite resource.

OUTSOURCE YOUR WORRY.

Write the small stuff down. Right now. Come back to it tomorrow. Cross off what’s not important anymore.

RE-PRIORITISE what’s important. Need a new car? No, really need a new car? Or just want a new car?

Thought so.

Don’t worry. Be happy. Life’s too short.

excellent advice. life is too precious and short to be mad all the time and complaining serves no real purpose.
